Greville G. Corbett

LSA 120: Morphosyntactic features and inflectional morphology

Greville G. Corbett is Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at the University of Surrey, where he leads the Surrey Morphology Group. He works particularly on the typology of features, as in Gender (1991), Number (2000) and Agreement (2006), all published by Cambridge University Press, and has recently been developing the canonical approach to typology. He is one of the originators of Network Morphology, and has done fieldwork on Archi, Chichewa, Russian, Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian and Tsakhur. He has taught at ten summer schools and similar events, including participating in the Vilem Mathesius Lectures and giving the Galileo Lectures.
