Sharon Inkelas
LSA 221: Morphology-phonology interface
Sharon Inkelas received a B.A. from Pomona College in 1984 and the Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1989. She taught briefly at UCLA before joining the University of Maryland faculty in 1989. Between 1990 and 1992 she was a Fellow at the Miller Institute for Basic Research in Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and joined the Berkeley faculty in 1992. Her research focus is in phonology, morphology, and their interaction, with special attention to Turkish and, more recently, to first language acquisition. She is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Linguistics.
