Frank Seifart

LSA 223: Nominal classification

Frank Seifart's research interests are in linguistic typology, language contact, and language documentation theory and practice. He has done fieldwork on various indigenous languages in the North West Amazon, in particular Bora-Miraña and Resígaro. He is currently assistant professor at the University of Regensburg and the coordinator of project "Documenting the Languages of the People of the Center (North West Amazon)". He received a master's degree from the Free University Berlin in 1999 and another from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá in 2001. His Ph.D. (2005) was awarded by the Max Planck Institute and Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, for a thesis on nominal classification in Miraña.
